My works are an effort to revive the memories and spirit of traditional Iranian art in a modern space, where the past and future engage in dialogue. In my carpets, I seek to create a world that the audience not only sees but also feels and experiences, immersing themselves in a poetic journey.
In a carpet that showcases turquoise fish on a background inspired by Isfahan’s tilework, I have attempted to bring to life the magic of water and the art of tile-making in a tangible and vibrant form. The fish are designed to appear as though they are swimming in an imaginative world where art and nature seamlessly merge.
In another work titled “Sof-e Salam” (The Royal Salute), I have brought together inspiration from Fath Ali Shah Qajar’s painting and the concept of a utopian city. This piece intertwines the art of carpet weaving with the design of a symbolic garment, representing a utopia where culture, identity, and hope are expressed through a combination of aesthetic beauty and historical depth.
The carpet “Noor” (Light), inspired by the contrast between tradition and modernity, represents a space where classic Iranian patterns rest on the edge of transformation. A chandelier, realistically depicted at the center of the design, serves as a symbol of illumination connecting the past and the future. This piece is a reflection on the concept of the passage of time, on moments where the past continues to shine upon us, illuminating the path to the future.
In the carpet “Tree of Light,” a tree emerges from the heart of a traditional Lachak and Toranj (corner and medallion) design, symbolizing life, growth, and light. Here, the carpet is not merely a functional object but an image of vitality and renewal. This piece reminds the viewer that within ancient traditions, there is always space for the roots of innovation and new life to grow.
Overall, my carpets are an attempt to redefine the boundaries of traditional Iranian art, demonstrating how the past can inspire the creation of works that look toward the future. These pieces serve as a bridge between memories and dreams, between culture and imagination.
